JOIN THE TEAM
Guest Caretaker

We love having a vibrant, energetic and eager to learn team on the farm. Do you want to be part of building a beautiful future? Time at Henbant can teach you much more than growing veg, moving cows and planting trees, it's a whole life experience.

Guest & Site Caretaker / Cleaner

Permanent part-time contract (following trial period)
18 hours per week
£1,000 gross per month

We're looking for someone lovely, practical and dependable to take responsibility for keeping Henbant's cabins, guest spaces and communal areas clean, cared for and beautiful.

Cleaning and cabin changeovers are at the heart of the job, but it's a little broader than a normal cleaning role. We're looking for someone who notices things, enjoys looking after a place and its people, and takes pride in making everything feel lovely and welcoming.

We also run a "no job is not your job" model, so essentially your bigger role is to make Henbant's context more true.

The offer

The role is 18 hours per week at £1,000 gross per month.

You can live off-site, but we would particularly love to find someone who wants to live at Henbant and become part of life here.

If you live on site, we can provide accommodation (or a place for your own van) and food from the farm, alongside your salary.

We are looking for somebody able to start in early September.

The core job

You'll be responsible for helping keep our cabins, campsite and other spaces running beautifully. The work includes:

  • Cleaning cabins and preparing them for new guests

  • Changing beds, hoovering, mopping and dusting

  • Washing, drying and folding sheets and towels

  • Cleaning compost toilets and occasionally helping to empty them

  • Cleaning showers, kitchens and other communal guest spaces

  • Basic maintenance — painting, fixing things and spotting problems before they become bigger ones

  • Keeping an eye on the general appearance of the site

  • Talking to guests and helping them feel happy, welcome and trusted

  • Monitoring and replying to Airbnb correspondence when needed

Henbant is a farm and everything is spread out, so the job involves plenty of walking around and carrying laundry, bedding and supplies. You'll need to be reasonably fit and happy working both indoors and outdoors.

Perhaps most importantly, we're looking for someone who notices what needs doing.

If you walk past something that's untidy, you straighten it. If a lightbulb has gone, you change it. If a guest looks lost, you help them. If something isn't working properly, you tell someone or, if you can, fix it.

There's also a whole farm here…

Your contracted role is primarily looking after our guest spaces and changeovers, but Henbant is a busy, varied place and there are lots of opportunities to get involved in other things if you'd like to.

That might include:

  • Helping in the market garden — weeding, watering and harvesting

  • Cleaning and lighting the sauna

  • Looking after communal spaces, the shop and team kitchen

  • Feeding and moving animals and collecting eggs

  • Helping cater for events

  • Helping with courses and community events

  • Cooking and caring for the rest of the team

  • Generally mucking in with farm life

You don't need to know how to do all these things. We're much more interested in finding the right person — someone dependable, kind, practical, hardworking and happy taking some ownership of the place around them.

Why Henbant?

We're genuinely passionate about agroecology, about restoring an ecosystem and about creating a productive space for our community that feels hopeful and positive about the possibility of a more beautiful world.

Henbant is a working farm, a place people come to stay, a learning space and a community. We grow food, keep animals, restore ecosystems, run courses and events and welcome thousands of people here every year.

We work hard, but we have a lovely time doing it.  Have fun, get it done has become a recent phrase..

If you feel the same way, come and share this amazing life with us and join the Henbant team. Henbant CIC is an Agriwilding Project, treading the gentle but powerful and essential path between Agroecology, Rewilding and Humans space in nature.
